Lily the Dog needs a home

Meet Sweet and Tender Lily
Lily, spayed female, 2.5 years old, 25 Lbs.

Hello, I am Lily’s rescuer and foster mom. Thank you for reading Lily’s story.
Lily was born on March, 3rd, 2015 with her 7 other siblings. Ever since they were born, they were restricted in a small cage, day in and day out. After they grew bigger, most of her siblings were either adopted or transferred to other places except Lily and her sister, Rosie, were both tied on a short leash at the same spot, without any space to walk, eat and did potty. Everyday when I drove by, I saw Lily and Rosie always tied at the same place, living in a miserable life to make me feeling so sorrow. They had no freedom, no smile and no proper meals. What broke my heart was they were almost a year old but locked in a 5 months skinny puppy body.

One day, I just couldn’t hold my sorrow and anger anymore. I got of my car, walked directly to the owner asking him to surrender both puppies to me. Without any hesitation, the owner off-leash both pups and walked away. Right away, I took these pups to an animal hospital for thorough physical checkups. According to the Vet, other than they were spayed, neither any necessary medical care nor vaccine was given. And Lily was detected to have heartworm positive. Without a second thought, I asked the Vet to do whatever he could to cure this poor puppy. Under few months proper medical care and nutrition, Lily was fully recovered. And the happiest thing was she started to gain weight as she should be.

Due to Lily didn’t have any chance to interact with human and other dogs in the past, she was timid. When I tried to walk her out, she was once so scared and did not even know how to walk properly. Day after day, I took Lily out as often as I could to encourage her meeting friendly people and other creatures. We spend quite some time sitting in a park, watching people and dogs passing by. When some strangers came to greet her, she gradually learned to overcome her fear and started to accept strangers’ nice pets. As time went by, she’s got so much improvement to make me very proud of her. And now she is a happy dog who might be a little shy for awhile but warms up in her way. Lily stays pretty content at home and in a familiar place. She likes to play and have fun with her sister, Rosie. If she stays long enough to encounter a group of dogs, she kind of enjoys being part of them. She is such a tender and quiet little girl that likes to cuddle with people she trusts. When I am working, she is calm and staying quietly next to me. When we play out, she always stays side by side with a joyful smile to let me know how happy she is. She is such a sweet and well behaved little doggie that makes you want to love her more. A gentle little fur baby like Lily deserves an understanding and loving home. If you like to have quiet and loyal companion to follow you around, Lily will be the one you definitely will not want to miss.
